Description

Sebastopol, a city of Russian glory, a military port and fortress, the main base of the Black Sea Fleet, a center for military shipbuilding and ship repair, at the beginning of the 20th century also became a center for the development of Russian aviation. In the fall of 1910, an airplane first flew over the peninsula and the first Russian military pilot school opened in Sevastopol.

In addition to training in flying on airplanes, school officers actively participated in the development of theoretical proposals and regulations.

The school staff took an active part in the Kiev maneuvers of 1911 and the Warsaw maneuvers of 1911-1912.
